by Maximilian Schachtner
He works as a designer and consultant for cultural institutions as well as commercial brands. He designs corporate identities and a wide array of printed and digital material such as publications, packaging, posters and websites. He spends at least one day a week working on personal, often art-related projects to keep himself receptive to new ways of thinking.
The contribution for Des Artistes connects with his continuing series titled Something out of nothing. This series is based on projects that develop new work from existing material. Something out of nothing questions todays mindset of perpetual consumption and wants to show that there are multiple ways of re-using images, re-presenting the quality of the existing. For Des Artistes he
developed colorful and abstract prints from fruit boxes.
